RIBA/ARB Part 3 Candidate
My architectural journey began at 16 when I enrolled at the Architectural Technical College in Warsaw. There, I immersed myself in practical training through apprenticeships in my second and third years, working alongside architects on real-world projects. These included assisting with roof constructions, garages, and designing a multifunctional space for my father that combined a living area, garage, and car-painting workshop. Seeing my designs transform from sketches to built structures was a defining moment, cementing my passion for architecture as a means to create meaningful spaces.
After my college training, I worked on domestic finishing projects and as a BMS fitter for the National Bank of Poland’s central server building, experiences that deepened my understanding of construction processes and stakeholder needs. Years later, while pursuing my Master’s in Scotland, I explored sustainable design through my dissertation, focusing on self-build housing systems using carbon-free materials like hempcrete. This work was inspired by my early experiences with inadequate housing and a commitment to creating accessible, eco-friendly solutions for communities.
My creativity is fueled by visionaries like Antoni Gaudí, whose masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia, I admire for its artistic and technical brilliance. Beyond architecture, I’ve earned a J.P. Morgan award for an innovative skyscraper cleaning mechanism, volunteered for charity initiatives supporting children’s hospitals, and developed teamwork and organizational skills through school theatre and event planning.
Having relocated to Scotland and fallen in love with Glasgow’s Victorian architecture, I’m eager to embrace new building technologies, collaborate on transformative projects, and relocate as needed. With a blend of practical experience, academic rigor, and a passion for sustainable design, I’m excited to contribute to architecture that enhances lives and leaves a lasting impact.
